Supporting You
The support I offer is not limited to the life challenges outlined below.

Please contact me if you would like to talk about what is happening in your life and what support would suit you best.

Feeling Stuck
Counselling, journaling and mindfulness are great ways to connect with your inner world and find direction.
There can be times when you are stuck and not sure which way to go. When you feel like this, it can be helpful to talk to someone who can support you to look at where you are, where you have been, where you would like to be, and most importantly, how to get there.

Anxiety
Support and Help:
Counselling and restorative yoga has shown to be effective in supporting people with anxiety, along with mindfulness and lifestyle changes.

Anxiety can be described as feeling overwhelmed due to a stressful situation.
Those situations could include a new job, exams, or any situation you may find yourself in where there is a sense of uncertainty.

Experiencing Anxiety
For most people it is a short-lived experience. For others, it can have an ongoing effect on their everyday lives.
People who experience prolonged anxiety may have
-
panic attacks
-
tightening in the chest
-
rapid shallow breathing
-
worrisome or fearful thoughts
-
withdraw from situations or places that might make them anxious

Stress
Support and Help:
Counselling, combined with restorative yoga and mindfulness, can help manage stress and promote well-being.
While some stress can be motivating—like preparing for an exam—chronic stress can harm both physical and mental health.

Stress triggers the release of cortisol and adrenaline, increasing heart rate, blood pressure, and muscle tension. Persistent stress may lead to fatigue, sleep issues, weakened immunity, and difficulty concentrating.
Recognising these signs early can help in finding effective support and relief.

Depression
Support and Help:
Research shows exploring your thoughts, feelings and behavioural change helps. Practising meditation and mindfulness can provide peace.
We may all experience sadness and a lack of energy/motivation for a few days or a week, however, with depression, the symptoms are ongoing and have an impact on everyday functioning.
Behavioural Changes
Your behaviour may change.
Activities that were once enjoyed, are no longer done, you may be withdrawing from friends and family.
Depression has been described as a feeling of heaviness in a long cold winter, with low concentration.
You may feel overwhelmed, frustrated, irritable and sad.
Thoughts can include:
-
‘I am worthless’
-
‘Everything I do fails’
-
‘It’s all my fault’
-
‘Everyone would be better off without me’
Physical signs can include a lack of energy, sickness, headaches, sleeplessness and weight gain or loss.

Grief & Loss
Grief and loss can be messy.

The Grieving Process
The grieving process takes time to explore and work through all the layers and come to a place of peace. Through this process your uniqueness can be embraced.
What can make it messy is our relationships and our attachment style.
For some who experienced healthy attachments as a child, it may feel like a mild winter, some cold days, but knowing spring will come.

For others with a challenging attachment style, their grief could be like a cold, bitter, winter, where they may feel isolated by layers of snow, becoming frozen and numb with no end in sight.

Support
With support you notice the snow is beginning to melt. Every now and then there is a warm breeze and you begin to thaw out, signaling that spring is on its way.

Stress
Transpersonal Counselling, Reiki, Restorative Yoga, and Energy Healing can support survivors at various stages of their healing journey. Trauma affects everyone differently, shaped by past experiences, resilience, and support systems. Early or prolonged trauma can deeply impact brain and nervous system development.

Trauma may result from a single event or ongoing abuse—physical, emotional, or psychological. It is often linked to PTSD, leaving individuals feeling unsafe in their own bodies, disconnected from their emotions, and struggling with trust, self-worth, anxiety, and depression. Some cope through self-medication or avoidance.

Complementary therapies, including mindfulness, movement, and energy work, are increasingly recognized for their role in mental health, helping individuals reconnect with themselves and restore balance.
